Neutron Cross Sections of Copper in the Energy Range 0.0001 eV to 15 MeV - Sources of Data for Files 249 to 251 in the UKAEA Nuclear Data Library

The sources of data for files 249 (natural Cu), 250 (63Cu) and 251 (65Cu) added to the UKAEA Nuclear Data Library in June 1967 are described. For natural copper neutron cross sections are based on evaluations by Benzi (CNEN, Bologna) and Haggblom (Ab Atomenergi, Stockholm) with improvements taking into account more recent experimental and theoretical work. For 63Cu and 65Cu (n, γ), (n,p), (n,a) and (n,2n) cross sections are given in the energy range 1 keV to 15 MeV which are consistent with the data for natural copper.
