EXTERMINATOR-2 is a FORTRAN IV version of the code EXTERMINATOR with major improvements. The code embodies all the features of EXTERMINATOR and, in addition, will (l) search for criticality directly or indirectly by varying nuclide concentrations, (2) take into account equilibrium xenon effects, and (3) compute adjoint fluxes and do perturbation calculations. Variable dimensioning techniques were used in programming the code that allow easy adaptation to any computer with a FORTRAN IV compiler and a minimum core size of approximately 64K words. The code contains no assembly language coding. Succeeding cases require only those input data that are different from the input for the preceding case, and the code uses I/O devices during the iterative part of the calculation only when core storage is exhausted.
