摘要

This volume if composed of six topical reports;each describing one or more systems which were developed to provide adequate quality assurance capabilities for the fuel designs proposed for the NASA tungsten., water moderated, nuclear ro.ket concept.. Program objectives are defined, significant fuel quality parameters are listed, and a detailed description of the experimental work which was conducted during the development evaluation, and limited application of each system is pro-vided. Methods investigated included ultrasonic, eddy current, nuclear counting, autoradiography, and X- ray radiography. Optical and mechan¬ical techniques were also developed in an effort to provide an adequate array of quality assurance methods and procedures.
