Tell her that with some modifications information theory may yet become a useful system of theoretical biology, that it may yet provide us with a way of coming to quantitative grips with evolution, cell prolifera¬tion, aging, and biocontrol mechanisms such as the brain and kidney, and that, to return to Bernstein's remark, the day may yet come when mathemati¬cians will understand and biologists will know how.
