Carbide-Graphite Composites Second Progress Report

摘要

This report is a continuation and extension of IA-3569-MS. Additional data on the effect of composition, hinder content, and contaminants in the as-received powders are presented. The effect of pressure on deformation of extruded composites at high temperatures is discussed. Also presented are preliminary determinations of the effect of com¬position of TaC-C composites, TaC-NbC solid solution, and composites of TaC-NbC mixtures. Preliminary data on the dynamic elastic prop¬erties and electrical resistivity of NbC-C composites are given.
