A CALIBRATION RIG FOR GAMMA RADIATION DOSE - RATE METERS

The Code of Practice for the protection of persons exposed to Ionising Radiation in Research and Teaching states that the controlling Authority must ensure that instru¬ments are tested and calibrated when they are first taken into use and re-tested at least annually. This memorandum describes the design, operation and performance of a calibra¬tion rig designed for the routine testing and calibration of gamma radiation dose-rate meters in use at Harwell. The test and calibration schedules for these instruments are given and the record keeping system is described.
