Electrical resistivity measurements were made on arc-melted, spin-cast, and hot-pressed zirconium carbide-carbon (ZrC-C) materials in the temperature range of 20° to 2,000° C. The hot-pressed materials were tested with current applied parallel with and perpendicular to the pressing axis. The ZrC-C materials displayed electrical resistivity values ranging from 29 micro ohm-centimeters at 20° C for arc-cast material containing 16 weight percent carbon to 279 micro ohm-centimeters at 1, 951° C for hot-pressed material containing 21 weight percent carbon.
