The reference signals may be generated internally, or by an 8192 bit diode matrix and delivered for perturbation use in the digital form by means of a stepping motor, the velocity of which is then sinusoidally modulated or by a digital-to-analog converter which delivers a normal sinusoidal variation signal. This signal can (after amplification) be used to drive a normal D.C. or A.C. motor.nThe reference signals may also be generated externally by an original photo¬electric encoder delivering the sine and cosine time modulated pulses. In this case the shaft encoder would be mounted on the mechanical apparatus under testing.nThis equipment is particularly useful in vibration analysis.
