摘要

The study of the basic phenomenon of sintering, and particularly that of subnlcron silica and alumina particles was completed. Thermal stability, thermal conductivity, porosity, and electron microscope evaluations all point to a particle aggloaaratfon at temperatures totter than expected for these oxides.nMaterials studies were also completed for ALON-C, K2CO3 shrinkage Inhibitor, and ZrOo opacifler combinations. In light of the agglomeration tendencies, the effect of the shrinkage Inhibitor on the ALON-C must be studied ov»r extended periods of life testing before the true product characteristics can be determined.
