The possible origins of interactions between dislocations and point defects are recalled. A distinction is made between classical 'elastic' terms and terms involving more directly 'chemical'1 or 'electrical' interactions. It is emphasized that these interactions are better known at large or medium ranges than when the point defects sit in the core of the dislocations.
