Measurements of the velocity and frequency of disturbance waves in vertical upward annular flow were made for a variety of gas velocities and pressures at a number of distances from the liquid injection point ranging up to 55 ft<, Specifically, it was shown that, for a given distance between the injector and the measurement point, the wave frequency and velocity were independent of the length for gas flow upstream of the injector and the length for two phase flow downstream of the injectoro This confirmed the reproducibility of the wave phenomenon and eliminated one possible source of inconsistency in area data. Also, it was shown that the wave frequency and wave velocity became constant independent of the distance from the liquid injector if the distance was great enough;thus, the frequency and velocity showed no significant change in the distance range 30-55 ft.
