SOME CHEMICAL METHODS FOR THE SEPARATION OF HIGH PURITY SHORT-LIVEDnFISSION PRODUCTS

Standard radiochemical techniques have been adapted to give rapid and radio-chemically pure samples of short-lived isotopes of the following elements: bromine, rubidium, silver, caesium, lanthanum, and praseodymium. Three of the elements considered, silver, lanthanum, and praseodymium, are obtained by milking their precursors, palladium, barium, and cerium.
