A RESONANCE EQUIVALENCE PROCEDURE CONVENIENT FOR NUMERICAL USE

A procedure is outlined for calculating the value of σp - the equivalent homogeneous hydrogen admixture - appropriate to complicated geometric configurations. In particular, the method will deal with arrays containing dissimilar materials in close proximity and will calculate the effect of heavy canning materials. The procedure is designed for use in a modular calculational scheme having an appropriate spatial solution module for the geometry needed. A test against established methods for the case of isolated rods shows that the desired accuracy of ~ 2％ in resonance events can be obtained even in extreme cases.
