摘要

This paper describes an analytical technique for the determination of permanent gases (i.e. hydrogen, oxygen, nitrogen, methane and carbon monoxide) in carbon dioxide. At a chromatographic column temperature of 100°C, the reten¬tion volume of carbon dioxide on molecular sieve is large compared with the retention volumes of the permanent gases. However, for a high sampling frequency or for automation of the analysis the carbon dioxide may be removed rapidly from the column, after elution of the permanent gases, by raising the column tempera¬ture to 300°C for 20 minutes, followed by forced cooling to the original operating temperature.
