A NEW WIDE-RANGED DIRECT CURRENT CALIBRATION SOURCE

A Regulated Direct Current Calibration Source has been constructed which can be programmed with an external voltage reference of from 0 to 1.5 volts. The source generates current levels in six full scale ranges of 150 micro-amperes to 15 amperes with an accuracy of +(50 ppm of reading + 5 ppm of full scale).nThe source combines improved accuracy with ease of operation and flexibility in use. Specific applications for this instrument include calibration of ammeters, potentiometric comparison of precision shunts, and measurement of resistive arms in portable Kelvin Bridges.nDetails of the design and construction are given along with eval¬uation test results on the instrument.
