STUDIES ON THE EFFECTS OF DIAGNOSTIC X-RAY EXPOSURE LEVELS TO THE FETUS

摘要

The purposes of this report are (1) to point up the important information which relates to radiation hazards to the developing ovum and fetus, (2) to assess whether as guardians of the public health the medical professions in general and clinical radiologists and radiological scientists in particular should take cognizance in the practice of diagnostic radiology and in the development of atomic energy for electrical power of the experimental and statistical evidence, and (3) to determine whether a need exists for guidelines for radiological practice and control which will minimize or eliminate exposure of the developing ovum or the embryo to which radiation can be avoided.
