A METHOD OF OBTAINING NIOBIUM – CARBIDE POWDER AND COATINGS FROM THE GAS – VAPOR PHASE

摘要

The main properties characterizing niobium carbide are its high melting point and microhardness, high resistance to the action of molten metals and metal vapors, satisfactory strength at high temperatures, low vapor pressure, high electrical conductivity, and good emissivity. These properties define the fields of application of niobium carbide:for the production of heating elements in high-temperature furnaces, evaporation installations for aluminum, protective coatings, coatings of thermoemission elements, and refractory alloys, [1-4].
