Diffusivity and thermal diffusion factor must be known. A complete set of smoothed experimental transport properties for N8 and 0S between 200 and 1100°K was obtained from the literature. Column coefficients for the experimental conditions were evaluated on the basis of these properties. The thermal diffusion column coefficients were determined from sepa¬ration experiments performed under both static and flowing conditions at hot wall temperatures of 500 and 800°C. The column, which was 24 ft (7.2 m) long, had an inside (cold wall) diameter of 0.750 in. (18.95 mm). The hot wall was a 0.063 in. nichrome wire. Detailed drawings of the column and accessory equipment along with operating procedures are presented.
