摘要

The present study was based upon the use of nuclear ex¬plosives to excavate a sea-level canal in the isthmian region of Central America. It was designed to provide estimates of the amounts of radionuclides which may be expected in marine organisms which are used for human food. The distribution patterns of radioactive and stable nu¬clides, introduced into the marine environment from nuclear explosions, will be determined mainly by physical and chemical processes in the high-electrolyte medium of sea water.
