Production and Structure of a Boron Carbide Containing Aluminum

The structure of a boron compound close to the composition AlC sub 4 B sub 40 has been determined and refined. The structure consists of B icosahedra and has a close relationship to B sub 12 C sub 3 (Clark and Hoard and AlB sub 10 or AlC sub 4 B sub 24. (ERA citation 09:035835)
