Project GASBUGGY On-Site Radiological Safety During Production Testing January 25, 1968 to December 31, 1969

Eberline Instrument Corporation provided on-site radiological safety support services for Project GASBUGGY during production testing. Gas released by flaring was monitored by a system that measured the tritium and krypton (85kr) concentrations. Tritiated liquid wastes removed by bulk liquid separators were analyzed for tritium and then released as vapor in the gas flare. The total amount of tritium and 85kr released as vapor or gas during production testing through December 31, 1969, was 2432 and 364 curies, respectively. Personnel working on-site during production testing did not receive any significant radiation exposure from the tritium or 8bKr.
