This report is the third annual report under contract Ho. AT-(AO-l) 3897 and describes work performed during the period December 1, 1970 to December 1, 1971. The work has been supported primarily by the United States Atomic Energy Commission and the University of North Carolina but has also received supplementary support from the Advanced Research Projects Agency which has been most helpful. The Oak Ridge National Laboratory has greatly aided this work through the loan of Mossbauer equipment which was designed and developed by the principal investigator while he was on the ORNL staff.
