A MODEL FOR ESTIMATING THE EFFECT OF NUCLEAR PLANT CLUSTERING ON POWER TRANSMISSION COSTS

A model has been developed to calculate the minimum transmission cost between a set of supply and demand' centers. The model uses the technique of Linear Programming, and is basically an economic tool. The problem of calculating the increase in transmission cost caused, by clustering of nuclear supply centers. is then investigated, and the relative increase in transmission cost as a function of the degree of clustering and the skewness of the plant distribution is illustrated.
