During this year we have carried out studies on the following subjects: a) The structure of the phytohemagglutinin PPHA and the nature of its mitogenic factor, b) The nature of the mitogen of Goldberg's fraction IV and its relationship to PPHA, c) The isolation and characterization of a non-erythroagglutinating mitogen from red kidney beans, and d) The subunit dissociation of hemoglobin Yakima as compared to hemoglobin A.
