RADIATION CHEMISTRY OF MONO-SUBSTITUTED AROMATIC COMPOUNDS

The results from the radiolysis studies of nitrobenzene and aniline have been published or submitted for publication with the one exception noted in IV. C. above. The radiolysis investigation of benzonitrile has been initiated. Authentic samples of cyano compounds, expected as radiolytic products, will be prepared, and satisfactory conditions for the G.C. analysis of these compounds will be determined. Irradiations of pure benzonitrile and benzonitrile plus additives will be carried out to determine radiolytic products and yields.
