This report outlines how these two functions are performed by lithium-bearing molten salts.nThe strong magnetic fields may have a considerable effect on the chemical stability and a less significant effect on the fluid dynamics of a flowing salt. A salt melt flowing across a strong magnetic field induces an electric field, which in turn produces an emf between the walls of the conduit and the adjacent salt.
