摘要

The performance characteristics of the plain (axial groove) journal bearings evaluated during this report period is presented in this volume. The influence of turbulent or superlaminar flow conditions in the clearance space on major parameters are established. Laminar flow equations for load capacity and power- loss are modify by Reynolds number terms to account for the flow conditions in the clearance space although the plain journal bearing meets many of the turboalternator requirements. It3 inherent instability, suscepti prevents its further development for application in the long term CRU V.
