LIGAND SUBSTITUTION OF PLATINUM(II) COMPLEXES:THE cis-DIBROMODIAMMINEPLATINUM(II)-BROMIDE-TETRABROMOPLATINATE(II) SYSTEM

摘要

Rates of isotopic bromide exchange cis [Pt(NH3)2 Br] werenfollowed in the presence of [PtBr42-] at 25 end 35°C. Reactions were quenched by an Ion exchange technique and the 82 Br in the preps ed samples was counted with a NaI crystal in a multichannel analyzer system. It was determined that [PtBr42-] did not catalyze exchange with free bromide but rather an increase in rate of bromide exchange was due to trading of bromide between the two complexes. The greater part of this trading was between one complex and the equated species of the other.
