摘要

Uranium mononitride bodies having densities of 85 percent of theoretical were obtained by reducing the UN particles size to 1 to 1800℃, or above, in nitrogen. At temperatures below which significant decomposition of UN occurs, sintering in vacuum was found to provide greater densification than sintering in either argon or nitrogen.nSintering Studies on (U 0.8 Pu 0.2)N were conducted using both mechanically mixed and prealloyed powders.
