The original objective of this project was to study the effect of irradiation on erythrocyte chimerism and immunologic tolerance in cattle twins. While we believe that we have remained reasonably faithful to the intent of this objective, we have at the same time expanded these studies into rather diverse and seemingly unrelated arenas. Actually this is quite natural in a study such as ours, because we are constantly seeking new immune-genetic markers with which to study chimerism and tolerance.
