The purpose of the Voluntary Product Standard is to establish nationally recognized size categories, size designations, and body measurements for the sizing of apparel for young men. It is also intended to provide consumers with a means of associating young men's body types with standard size designations so that they may obtain the best fit, irrespective of type or style of garment, price or quality of merchandise, or producer.
