Histologic Study of Oral Tissue Specimens of New Jersey Dial Painters

The purpose of this study was to examine in detail the histologic findings in oral tissue specimens from persons who early in life were enployed as radium dial (watch) painters. All tissue was obtained at autopsy and forwarded to Georgetorn University Department of Oral Pathology. All specimens were prepared using conventional histologic techniques. Blocks were sectioned serially and every tenth slide stained with hematoxlyn and eosin. Correlation of the histologic findings with certain laboratory data were undertaken.
