FISSION GAS RE-SOLUTION RATES Quarterly Report No.6- October 1 to December 31, 1971

In this sixth quarterly report, progress in an experimental program to determine the re-solution rates of fission gar in oxide nuclear fuels under irradiation is described. Transmission electron microscopy of specimens annealed at 16000 after irradiation is presented. Characterizations of the fission bubble sea distributions, after annealing are discussed including the nature of the size distributions {log-normal), size distribution parameters, volume mean diameters, average number of gas atoms per bubble, bubble density, volume of the bubbles, and total gas contained in bubbles per unit volume.
