Scattering of Electromagnetic Waves by Cylindrical Plasma Containers

Expressions have been derived for theoretical evaluation of the scattering cross-section (sigma) for a thin cylindrical plasma shell. Values of sigma have been computed assuming suitable values for the different plasma parameters and presented as a function of the angle of incidence of the wave. It is concluded that only the dielectric constant of the plasma and the thickness of the shell affect the value of sigma. 10 refs., 1 fig.
