Density data at 25 ℃ for HC1 solutions with concentrations up to 15.1 M and for L1C1 solutions with concentrations up to 12.0 M have been fitted to a second-degree polynomial as a function of both molality and molarity. From the equations obtained, available literature values of molality and activity coefficients on the molal scale (γ±) were converted to molarity and activity coefficients on the molar scale (y±). The latter (up to 11.9 M for HC1 and up to 14.0 M for LiCl) were fitted to an extended Debye-Hückel expression. . Appropriate tables and graphs of the various values were prepared. The activities of HC1 and LiCl were noted to be very similar (HCI was slightly higher) over the concentration range up to 11.9 M.
