PREIRRADIATION REPORT:HRB-4 AND HRB-5 IRRADIATION CAPSULES

In addition to ORNL's experimental material (not discussed herein), each capsule contains two each of three different types of GGA fuel rods (12 rods total in the two capsules) and represents the first GGA irradi¬ation effort designed to evaluate the irradiation performance of fuel rods fabricated using a new candidate process (admix-compaction, cure-in-place) and candidate materials (three non-FSV matrix materials and two types of graphite shim particles) for large HTGR startup and recycle fuel systems.
