Review and Tentative Selection of a Working Fluid for Use with a Medium Temperature (300 F) Geothermal Resource

A review of conventional refrigerants was made to determine the best fluids to be used as the working fluid in an electrical power plant application where energy will be derived from a medium temperature geothermal heat source. Major considerations were operating pressures, operational flexibility, thermal efficiency, line sizes and potential for best utilization of the geothermal heat source.
