A total of 24 cross sections was determined for (n,p)-, (n, alpha )-, (n,2n)- and (n,np + pn + d)-reactions of fast (so called ''14 MeV'') neutrons on the elements Sc, Ni, Ge, Pd, Cd, Sm, Dy, Gd, and Yb. exp 58 Ni(n,p) exp 58 Co served as monitor reaction. It is a special feature that calculated neutron energy spectra for the ''14 MeV'' n-tube (Type Philips 18602) were considered, thus enabling the supply of each individual sigma-value with the respective n-energy distribution. On the basis of an extensive literature search (up to the beginning of 1973) the sigma-data were compared with experimental results of other authors and with those deduced from the statistical model. For some nuclides (e.g. exp 58 Ni, exp 154 Gd, exp 168 Yb, exp 176 Yb) it was possible to show the limits of applicability of the latter model. Summarizing, 12 cross sections and 3 isomeric ratios, nearly all belonging to reaction products with rather long half-lifes, were determined for the first time. (ERA citation 03:038514)
