摘要

The structures of release waves propagating into preshocked aluminum were calculated for wave propagation in both the solid and solid--liquid mixed phase region using a constitutive equation which treats rate-dependent melting. It is found that release wave profiles in both the solid and solid--liquid mixed phases can be accurately predicted. However,the profiles in the mixed phase region are found to be fairly sensitive to small variations in thermodynamic properties of the pure phase constituents. The present work suggests that the time constant for melting is on the order of 0.02mu s with an upper limit of about 0.05mu s.
