摘要

Elemental tritium is shipped at low pressure in a stainless steel container (LP-12) within an aluminum vessel and surrounded by 3.9in.-thick Celotex insulation in a steel drum. Information is presented on the packaging design,evaluation of the structural,thermal,containment,shielding,and criticality characteristics of the package,procedures for loading,unloading,transporting,and testing the LP-12,and quality assurance requirements.
