Production of Radionuclides exp 123 I, exp 77 Br for Nuclear Medicine with High Energetic exp 4 He Particles

The feasibility of using 50-102 MeV alpha particles to produce the exp 123 Xe implies exp 123 I and exp 77 Kr implies exp 77 Br generators were evaluated using targets of natural sodium iodide and sodium bromide. Thick target yields of direct and indirect produced exp 123 I and exp 77 Br were measured. Production rates for other resulted radionuclides were also measured, and the level of indirectly produced exp 125 I impurity were determined. (ERA citation 01:026258)
