DESIGN CRITERIA FOR LOCK HOPPER VALVE DEVELOPMENT

The design and construction of the valves shall comply with commercial standards as defined in the ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code and ANSI Standards B16.5 and B16.34. The valve envelope shall be such that it agrees with the dimensions for standard valves as defined in ANSI B16.10, i.e., the valve shall be capable of being Installed in a space that is defined by ANSI B16.10. It 1s not necessary that the envelope dimension be correlated with the respective nominal line size of B16.10;it is necessary that the envelope dimension correlate with some nominal line size.
