We report progress in inertial confinement fusion reactor research oriented over the past year towards pure laser fusion reactors for electric power production. Topics covered include laser-pellet modeling, target illumination and optics, lasers, cavity design and liner response, magnetic protection, blanket design and thermal hydraulics, steady state and time dependent neutronics analyses, materials behavior and neutron radiation damage, tritium cycle analysis, and power cycle Resign. Total system integration, plant design, optimization studies, and economic analyses are just beginning and no details are reported on these topics.
