Infinite Tensile Cylinder With Circumferential Edge Crack

摘要

The problem of a tensile cylinder of infinite length with a circumferential edge crack 1s solved. Integral transform techniques are used to reduce the given problem to a singular integral equation, where the unknown function to be determined is a dislocation density. The singular integral equation is solved numerically and values obtained for the stress intensity factor are compared with results of other authors.
