Figure 1-2 qualitatively compares median and upper 95% confidence activities with current GASSAR activity criteria (Ref. 1-2). As shown in Fig. 1-2, 95% confidence activities are at or below GASSAR design activity criteria, with the exception of cesium and silver activities. Cesium and silver radionuclides are shown in Volume VII to contribute a major share of the total dose to personnel during certain maintenance operations. Clearly, if the uncertainties in the activities of these fission products are to be reduced, more work is required to characterize cesium and silver transport and release.
