A literature study on the examination of the limits of use and reliability of high temperature strain gauges (HT-SG) is achieved in the Commission of the European Community (EC). The present final report is concerned with: (1) possibilities of use of the high temperature strain gauge technique, (2) accessories available for the high temperature strain gauge technique, (3) the literature on the high temperature strain gauge technique, (4) the problems of the high temperature strain gauge technique, (5) methods for testing high temperature strain gauges, and (6) specimens and testing devices. 47 references.
