In investigating the interaction between a core melt and reactor concrete, it is imperative--in order to narrow down the field of parameters which presents itself--to define both the core melt which interacts with the concrete and also the concrete which is to be used for these tests. In what follows, therefore, we will examine the most significant aspects which are of importance in the establishment both of the interacting core melt and of the reactor concrete to be investigated.
