THERMAL OPERATIONS CONDITIONS IN A NATIONAL WASTE TERMINAL STORAGE FACILITY

The goals of the present study were to investigate the temperature profiles over 30 years for a specific design of a waste storage pilot plant and, in particular, to examine the thermal effects due to ventilation of the storage rooms.nThe approach used in this study has been to make three-dimensional calculations for a unit cell in the center of the facility using boundary conditions to account for the rest. The unit cell calculations were then extrapolated to provide results for the entire ventilated array.
