POTENTIAL FOR TUMOR THERAPY WITH TRITIATED TETRACYCLINE SUMMARY EVALUATION

Reports of tetracycline accumulation in human and animal tumors have led a number of investigators to postulate that this drug, if radio-labeled, might have potential as a therapeutic or diagnostic agent. This paper describes four aspects of our attempts to investigate this potential:n7-Tritiotetracycline (TTC), 9 Ci/mole, was synthesized, purified, and characterized. 0 Tumor therapy experiments were carried out with the high specific activity TTC in two transplanted tumor lines.
