RESPIRATORY RETENTION FUNCTION APPLIED TO PARTICLE SIZE DISTRIBUTION

Particulate amounts deposited in regions of the respiratory tract are assessed by the use of a simple numerical integration of the ICRP lung deposition function with particulate size distributions. The fractional mass retained in a respiratory region, from both a number and mass particle size distribution of emitted fly ash, is calculated. Also, bimodal, nonlognormal, and mass histogram distributions are investigated with this technique
